We're two weeks out from the camp. Thanks to those of you that have registered already! It really helps us plan our numbers for food and rooms. We're also holding out hope to bring back some commemorative item like a tshirt or canvas bag - working on that based on the budget we have now so stay tuned...
We'd like to take the opportunity to share a few things with you:
1. We need Presentations! We've got a few people that have already offered to do some and that is really exciting! Remember, the unconference format allows us to select sessions that morning and also organize them into tracks, so that first morning session is a blast in itself. However, preparation in advance is really helpful. If you need ideas, please fill out the contact form on this site or email joe (AT) bachana (DOT) com. Joe is coordinating sessions so can let you know if someone is already thinking about the session you have in mind. Case studies will be great too, just as long as you can show the work you've done under the hood since it is a technical conference.
2. We need Volunteers! At this time we've got to get folks to help with setup, registration, and helping direct people around the camp. Its really easy work, we set it up that way every year, but we need about 5-8 people that are willing to come earlier and/or do different things during the day.
3. We need more Registrations!: People always tend to wait until the last minute for these things, but it makes our jobs harder when we don't know how much space we need, how much coffee, food, etc. Please tell your colleagues, friends, etc to register at www.tinyurl.com/dcnyc17
4. Scholarship slots available to students!: If you know of any college or high school students that would like to attend the camp, We will give them complimentary admission if they can prove that they are a student.
